Tis the Season to be Tipsy: Naughty Nog

When I first dreamed up this idea, I had visions me in the kitchen whipping up my first ever batch of homemade eggnog… then life happened and eggnog was on sale at Walmart so my original idea got put on hiatus.

Normally, I’m not a bourbon drinker, but I found this honey bourbon that I usually use when making special occasion bread pudding for The Husband and decided to give it a try. I think that the honey flavor in the bourbon mixed with the caramel in the glass gave just enough sweetness that the bourbon didn’t have as much bite as I’m usually fearful of.

Because I’m one of those people that stalk the grocery stores as Thanksgiving approaches waiting for the dairy cooler to be stocked with eggnog, I can drink it without the extra spirits and be completely satisfied… but I will definitely be making at least a pitcher of this before the season is over!

I still have plans to try my hand at homemade eggnog and eggnog French toast and eggnog milkshakes… just not right now. Right now I’m going to sip on this cool taste of Christmas and enjoy the rest of my evening.
