Write the Vision Tribe

“Then the Lord answered me and said: ‘Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.'”                                 — Habakkuk 2: 2 – 3

When I created my first vision board, it was at the insistence of my sister-in-law who paid for my ticket to a four-hour vision board party. We ate and drank and had a good time, and we began creating our vision boards. Over the course of the next two months, I completed my board on my own with my own supplies, having filled it with printouts and magazine images of things and representations of things that I had a desire to accomplish over the course of the year. Some things I completed, most I did not. What I did not do was pray about those things or consult the Holy Spirit about how those things – or anything else – were part of His plan for me. In short, I had vision but no purpose.

This year I changed that.

Prepared on Purpose… I decided that although I desired to do a vision board this year, I no longer wanted to live my life based on things haphazardly placed on a board (or in a journal, as it were this time around) that I would look at daily and still not be guided towards my God-given purpose. So for seven days (the spiritual number representing COMPLETION) I fasted and prayed and read my Bible and watched sermons by my favorite pastor and began to complete my vision journal. On the eighth day (the spiritual number representing NEW BEGINNINGS) I made a conscious decision to begin living a more spirit-led life, and what I found in my reflection of this seven-day process was not only clarity for me, but clarity for the message that Write the Vision Tribe is meant to bring.

The Quest to Find Your Vision… Through our intentional seven-day Vision Quest process, Write the Vision Tribe assists men and women of God in creating their spirit-led vision boards to seek God’s purpose for their life.
